Development of a Pilates identity for the multi-site UK launch of a series of Clinical Wellness centres featuring medical Diagnostics, early stage medical movement intervention, post rehab Pilates
Project involves evaluating existing company offering and involvement in overall business planning to ensure that the Pilates offering dovetails with current operational plans and systems.
Brainstorming with senior management involving education sessions to ensure that they understood Pilates and Pilates Apparatus possibilities sufficiently to make informed Apparatus choices.
Scoping of the business needs for a successful Pilates Apparatus offering to fit the requirements for both a structured one on one and small group clinical offering, and a more traditional group exercise offering for those entering Pilates at the Pilates door as opposed to via the medical route.
Studio planning to identify space requirements for the Pilates offering and liaison with architects and management pre-build or pre-site renovation to ensure that the studio design meets the business plan rather than restricting it.
Production of a ‘Brand’ manual to provide necessary information, at all levels of the company to understand Pilates, the Pilates offering and to signpost staff to the aspects of learning and knowledge required for their role in the company to ensure that the customer experience is consistent and unique.
Development of 20 Class Formats which meet the clinical needs of the medical lead and act as the key Pilates products. Identifying the rules for each class and describing the populations that may be admitted to each class classification. Identifying where the Instructor can ad-lib in exercise choice and where they must conform to strict exercise choice rules. Clarifying the mechanisms for progression at three levels within each product classification
Creation of an audio visual full length class template for each of the 20 products to ensure consistency of product look and feel between sites as well as within the team at each site. Templates to demonstrate style, tempo and reinforce class aims and objectives.

Creation of an in-house branded bespoke staff training program for a multi-site Pilates Operator in the NW of the UK preparing to franchise their offering to provide growth.
Project involved planning a training programme to take Pilates enthusiasts and train them to be qualified Pilates reformer group exercise teachers. The teachers conform to Industry standards, and are provided with high quality 200 hour Pilates Reformer qualifications combined with added value education, to reinforce the needs of the brand. An aim was to develop a contract between the trainee and the franchise which allowed the franchisee to pay initially for the training but be financially protected if the trainee did not complete the training, or maintain their commitment to remain teaching within the brand for a specified time. Also we created brand identification on all training materials to deliver the training as if the training provider were the brand. We delivered Certification opportunities for each instructor within a 3 year period of initial training.
-
Creation of a 350 hour apprentice based education concept for a multi-site Pilates Studio owner in the NW of UK to provide a solution to business growth limitations created by an inability to harness demand due to a lack of Pilates instructors with sufficient qualifications and experience

We set rules for the type and quantity of Apprentice support in house, and mechanisms for quality control of standards to separate assessment from the primary education team. We liaised with the DWP and other funding organisations to set up funding grants for different categories of student interested in this Apprentice style training.
We created marketing and operational documentation to describe and enrol the customer.
We set up safeguards to ensure quality control and management of financial risk for the customer paying in excess of £4,000 for a 3-year apprentice style comprehensive Pilates training.

Business recovery of a failing Pilates Studio recently purchased by a customer from the primary Instructor/owner now struggling to see profit.
Analyse the prior business model, the true financial viability for the previous business pre-sale. Identify the business as failing at that stage, the prior owner working long hours with less than minimum wage return for most of these hours. Present a solution to the new owner involving a rebranding and new approach to operations and product offering to maximise revenue per class and reduce the size of the product offering to a smaller base with expansion only as each product fills. Change the style of operation from pay as you go to membership - offering added value with one on one sessions for each member built into the membership.
